Residential Estimator Job Description

Founded in 1999, Atlanta’s Paint Doctor is an Atlanta based residential painting company who is

dedicated to creating value for our customers by providing the best possible service and quality

workmanship the industry can offer. Our commitment to service and quality ensures that our

customers call us repeatedly and refer to their friends and family.

We are currently seeking an industry sales veteran to become our next residential sales

estimator. This person will be responsible for growing and filling a sales pipeline for residential

customers and will be done by focusing on building relationships with interior designers, real

estate agents, community managers and other industry professionals who will then refer

business to us when their clients need our services.

The Job In 4 Sentences

Your day-to-day will be varied, but your ultimate duty is to ensure the customer is elated with

our work enough to refer more work our way. Some days you’ll be on the phone all day making

calls. Other days, you’ll be on a job site, then head to a customer to drop off donuts and build

relationships and wrap up the day with industry networking events to meet future customers.

Ultimately, you’ll be judged on how many problems you solve by being the dam which keeps

stuff from rolling downhill.

Experience

At least five years of proven experience estimating & selling high quality, large ticket products or

services to residential and business customers. Knowledge of or familiarity with the painting

industry, construction estimating, and construction management experience is strongly

preferred.

Personal Attributes:

The Project Manager is a vital part of the management team, who will help ensure profitability,

customer satisfaction, positive image in the marketplace, and revenue growth. The Project

Manager must always project a professional image through personal appearance, work habits,

teamwork, communication, and personal integrity. Personal integrity includes doing as you say,

prompt response to all customer and employee requests, and ensuring that all business

transactions are ethical and conducted with total honesty.

Responsibilities (this is not a complete list)

● Achieve new business sales goals by farming existing clients and harvesting new ones.

● Responsible for all aspects of selling and estimating, which includes labor, material,

trade contractors, and vendors.

● Ensure that all clients receive accurate detailed written estimates, are priced to obtain

reasonable mark-up and meet company margin objectives.

● Coordinate with the Sales Manager to review estimates.

● Present final proposals to all clients and review closed sales with production managers.

● Working to ensure the sales process is professional and customer focused and

profitable for all parties involved.

● Create satisfied customers who will refer new business to Atlanta’s Paint Doctor.

● Project a professional image always through personal appearance, work habits,

teamwork, communication, and personal integrity.

● Oversee all clients through the sales process and serve as an advocate to the client

after the sale.

● Maintain involvement and communication with the Sales Manager, clients, and

production to ensure a successful selling process.

● Assist in communication and processing of all change orders and oversee the ongoing

collection of payments of your accounts.

● Maximize the results of company implemented marketing campaigns by working closely

with the Sales Manager and marketing team to ensure Atlanta’s Paint Doctor’s sales

team maintains high visibility and will assist in making follow-up calls and presentations

when needed.

● As requested by the Sales Manager and COO, you will provide timely and accurate

reporting of all sales activities.

● Attend certain trade shows, trade functions, community service functions, and

networking events as directed by the Sales Manager or COO.

● Always act as a company ambassador continually seeking to build better relationships

and increasing The Paint Doctor’s referral rate.

● Dual language (English and Spanish) is preferred but not required.

Education

An undergraduate college degree is preferred in business, accounting, finance, or marketing.

Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge or experience with CRM and project

management software is required.

Benefits & Compensation Plan

Compensation:

● You will receive a 6.0% commission on projects that hit the company GM (Gross Margin)

guidelines.

● $5K monthly draw against commissions for each of the first 3 months (90 days).

Afterwards there will be no draw. This is to assist you in building up your sales pipeline.

● Minimum sales target of $83K monthly.

● You will receive an additional 2.0% for the projects that you manage. You are expected

to estimate and manage your projects.

● Self-Generated leads will bring in a 2.25% bonus. We expect you to generate a

minimum of 30% of your own leads.

● On Target Earnings (OTE) is expected to be $143,242.00; this is not a guarantee but

this is what to expect if you are in alignment for the goals set for this position.
